I am curious to know if anyone has compared these two different strut bars and if there are any advantages or disadvantages between the two. Thanks

I can only speak about the Ultra Racing bar. I had one in my last car and just recently added one to my Civic. It’s a very nice piece. Powder coated, one piece and very sturdy. It definitely tightened up my front end a bit and the cars steering feels a bit more precise. Nothing drastic, but noticeable.

The Tanabe bar certainly looks better than the UR one, bling wise. I don't know if it's as effective as the UR one though.

I doubt there would be significant differences between the two.

I have the UR bar on my civic hatch and like it. That being said I have purchased tanabe lower rear and lower front bars on my 240sx and had no issues with them. I think when deciding the two, it depends more on looks and price. I've always preferred one piece, beefier designs, so I picked the UR.

I decided on the Tanabe and ordered it from RCA- Race Consulting Agency for $112.59 with free shipping. It arrived quickly, great service. I did install it with the wheels off the ground an no load on them. I did have an issue using a socket to tighten 1 nut on each side with a ratchet and used an open end wrench. I am not sure if this would have been required had I just done it on the ground. The nut is extremely close to the mount where the bar bolts in place. After a drive I am not sure how much if a difference it makes because I did not push it to its limits before. I will say the front on the Si in Sport mode handles like its on rails.

I may lean towards the Tanabe as much as I love the one piece ultra racing bar. The deal breaker is the ultra racing one covers the brake fluid reservoir and the negative terminal of the battery in case it needs a jump. Having to remove the bar each time I need to access either one of those spots. Performance wise between both those bars looks to be negligible regardless of Tanabe being a 3 piece as members stating better handling response with each one. I also hear another member stating the ultra racing bar touches the hood insulation when closed. I don’t want it to get ruined or burned as the bar gets very hot with the engine.

I just want to confirm that you were able to get this onto your '17 Si Coupe without any fitment issues? I heard that the Tanabe bars often heat up and burn some of the tubing since it doesnt clear all the stuff under the hood.

(Also, is that a 1200 RT in the back? I'm personally a Ninja guy.)
