Suspension strut tower bolt corrosion

Hi so just popped off the rubber cover on the suspension tower and found this... Same on the other side.

Doesn't look very pretty for a car with >10,000km on it.

Anyone else have this issue / thoughts?

Protective cover was on them.

Could be that it has not been oiled at the factory? If so, I would not be surprised that it got rusty even under the cap, water vapors anyway gets under the cap. I will check mine later today. It is under 2000 km / 1 month, but still

Here is mine, no oil, just bare metal. Mine is still new, so no rust, but I bet it will be there.

Probably just surface rust, get some metal or stiff plastic bristle brush to clean it up then coat it with WD-40
