So I've seen on here before people posting that random dents magically appear on their rear pillars. Well I noticed today that I have 2 dents on my rear drivers pillar and Im 99% sure that nothing physical caused them. Are these chassis's so shitty that they're possibly twisting and causing these dents?

Also any tips on getting them out? Suction cup?

Anyone elses Hatchback have this problem?

Looks more as if something fell from a tree and hit your car. It has happened to me a couple of times.

Yupp that’s the dreaded issue. Been seeing it pop up more for hatchbacks it seems too. It’s not that it’s shitty, but more that two different metals meet there and that’s the weak point. Still sucks though! I’m praying it doesn’t happen to my sedan.

On my sedan I can literally take two fingers and easily dent it in that spot. What kind of special Honda engineering is this? :banghead:

I think it's a combination of the weak sheet metal and people leaning on the car to reach inside/over/etc.

I truly believe it's the poorly made sheet metal and the chassis twisting. Is there any good trunk braces?

If not I'm going to make one

Yes! Check out Ultra Racing's dual brace!

I'll edit and add that this was the only brace on the market (at least at the time I bought) that is a steel, non-hinged design.
It also fits perfectly with the truck tray in place on the lower. I have the spare tire kit in place with the raised hatch floor. The truck tray from the Sport hatch fits this kit in the Type R so you can still have a trunk tray.

Could you take a couple pics of the mounting areas? I still might make my own just because I weld and do metal fab as my career

Just had my PDR guy pop a small dent on my type r in the same location. I don't think it is chassis twist, sheet metal is just thin there. Every new car I have owned the last 5 years from a few different manufacturers have the same issues.
Weight savings, larger pieces of sheet metal consisting of 1 stamped or formed piece of metal, I think are the main culprits here. Cars are just flimsier these days.
