My car is only at 3700 miles, and my sunroof drain got clogged and has started making the headliner wet. Just happened with all of the rain we have been having in virginia. I don’t know if this is related to the drain being clogged but i’ve noticed after getting into the car after its been sitting in the rain, a lot of water comes in at where the lower dashboard meets the door, and then drips while I’m driving over the dead pedal. I have no idea if this is just water that got in from opening the door, or its something with the drain. Got an appointment Wednesday.

I'm not sure there is a drain. There's not supposed to be any water getting into it at all when it's closed.
Where is the drain you are mentioning, maybe I'm wrong.

All sunroofs leak a little bit, none of the seals are 100% perfect. To come around this, automakers put a channel around the sunroof to catch the water, and redirect it out of the vehicle, usually ejecting it at the bottom. Here’s a picture of the drivers side front drain.

Update: took it in today and they said they might need 2 hours with it after 1 hour they called and said they tested everything did a water test and checked all of the seams, but did not find any leak points and just to bring it back in if there’s a leak again.

took it in and they said they located the leak in the windshield seal. They said they did something with the lower windshield (I don’t know what yet, my service advisior was out when I picked up the car he will be mailing me the papers)

Turns out it wasn’t the sunroof drain at all! Kinda confusing though, if it was the lower windshield then why did my headliner get wet at the a pillar?

The air current may have pushed the water up the side of your windshield. If there was a gap letting the water in, that water was then pushed by the draft while driving up through the channel and into your headliner.

I was thinking something similar, but it would be wet after the car would sit in the rain too.
