this was a behind the scenes issue we were having with the wiring:

Jacob, we dont need the secondary o2 sensor, only the one before the cat, hence why there was only one plug.

what I thought was the crank sensor is actually called a crank fluctuation sensor -- it determines if theres a difference in crank timing vs crank position. if the two read the same, theres no fluctuation. The engine will run without it, but its best to trick the ecu so you dont get a CEL.

talks about o2:

Oooh how interesting I’ll read into this more at work

Few pics from the process of me and @Prelewd pulling the engine and such.
Also been working on sanding the clear down on the carbon hood to get the overspray off and fix some imperfections on it so far it’s coming out pretty decently

my guess onto why the plug isnt there is that someone either already cut it, or depinned it from the harness
possibly ya david did tell me he would call and tell me about it but i went into work so not sure if he called you

@Prelewd it looks like for the ac bracket/torque mount the vtec del sol bracket will work but you will need a b series compressor. but if you go with a crv bracket (p7j) it will bolt up and can use the d series compressor it does appear only a few of the bolts will go in and it looks like 1 cant be used but its doable and people have ran it without issues.

for power steering thou it looks like you need the b18b1 bracket but still looking atm to see if anything else will work. ive seen people delete it but id rather not if i dont have to.

well, the guy in that fb ad has two p7j compressor brackets. might as well snag one so you dont have to change the ac compressor as well.

look who is out of the garage! me and @Prelewd got her running and idling good! still got a few things to button up and finish on her but its getting a lot closer! the carbon hood is also close to being done it needs a quick sand on some of the areas that had some runs and then one last thing of clear coat and a polish! so close but also so far haha

The hood is coming along nicely! Gotta clean up a few runs and then one finally thing of clear and then polish! No the hood isn’t perfect but it also wasn’t perfect when I got it so oh well!
It is nice seeing the 98 outside now knowing that the car runs and drives so I can push it out of the garage and clean it all up

so havent updated this in a bit but the car is running sorta...

the engines fuel trims are all over the place because it is still sucking in air on the messed up air intake location on the head @Prelewd has really good pics to show what im talking about.

we also noticed that the car was putting out a lot of white smoke once it got warmed up... its only done this once so ill need to let it idle and get to temp and see if it does it again if so then the motor will need to be pulled and gone through...

annnnnnnnd sadly the hood is not for my year of 6th gen.. this hood is for a 99spec so ill have to swap the fenders, headlights, bumper and grill to make this hood work or ill have to sell the hood off and pocket the cash ill get from it.

so ya some highs and lows of working on a project car sadly.. ill add the few photos i have from last weekend when we worked on the car.

the one thing that was neat is keegan welded up the exhaust on the header so we could finally hear the b18b1 with the 4-1 header to the apexi exhaust the car sounds really nice! its subtle and not overkill and oddly enough doesnt sound like a civic? so i like it lol
