Here's the fitment of the sidemarkers installed on a 2020 type r.

As u can see the passenger side has a big gap.

the driver side is almost perfect.

The OEM markers are keyed with the larger notch at about the 2 o'clock position while sumas are keyed at the 6 o'clock position. The connector is rubbing on the body and preventing it from sitting further in. On the passenger side I was able to install the sidemarker with the connector off and plug it in after it was installed. Not enough room for that on the driver side.

Why are side markers such a hassle? i am almost worried to change mine out because of fitment issues

Just tint the factory ones, that is all I did.

I messed with inner piece of metal that was keeping the side marker from going in all the way, fixed the gap for me. Takes a little bit of work but nothing anyone is going to notice. Sadly one of my side markers of the same kind got water in it, still waiting for a replacement.

I installed those but the tinted version several months back as a tester for Suma. That was my response to them. I mentioned that gap to Eddy as there are clearly marketed for the stock civic fenders. Even though I liked the switchback I also was leary of California legality also. I uninstalled them after that day and went back to my Depos.

Yeah I'm worried about them getting water in. Looks like they used superglue to seal them probably would be better with an actual sealant.

Same problem here- ugly gap in front passenger side. It's a BIG gap and the stupid marker doesn't snap in place. I'm afraid if I hit something bumpy on the road this thing's going to just pop right off

Just get OEM JDM, get the right part # and you will be good to go :)
What about buying the stock markers in UK? I think in the UK, the Type R stock models come with clear side markers.

Same thing

Just pop the side marker in to place and then screw the bulb in from inside the fender. Bulb socket can't be screwed in to the side marker while trying to install as the bulb socket hits the metal tab in the fender. Fitment is OEM, no issues :)

$170 for side markers- that's way out of my budget. Yikes! That's almost as much as the Mugen Window visors.
