is it possible to take a signal from amplifier output to sub and use those for converter (leftover from my old car)

or better to find a signal wire before the amp?
first time installing amp and sub in car with factory amp so I'm confused where to take the signal for RCAs from

I thought someone would have answered this by now.

So far as I know... that device is a pad. It lowers the speaker-level signal to pre-amp level signal needed for the input of an external amp. Some external amps, however, seem to offer speaker-level inputs (they basically include this device internally).

In a perfect world; you'd be able to access a pre-amp level from the car's factory stereo and connect it to your external amp. Part of the reason for LOCs (the pad part, anyway) is because most car stereos do not offer this ability.
