Stripped shifter lock nut

Tried to install my 27won shift knob and I think I stripped the locking nut. Lol I feel stupid... anyone have suggestions?

Not sure you managed that! Lol
You will probably have to cut off the nut with a Dremel.
If it won't grab the threads, don't try and force it!
I installed my 27won knob yesterday and am loving it!

Worst case scenario, if it stays tight on the shaft, I guess you could pound it down further so it's out of the way???

I can tell by the picture that the bottom threads on your shifter are messed up. I would try using a M10x1.5 die to clean those threads up and maybe the nut will be able to thread on.
