Honda doesn't use Phllips head screws. They use JIS screws.

IMO , It doesn't matter what the name of this screw is if my phillips works fine.

I can admit that if you have hundreds of screws of this type to assemble / disassemble the real tip would be preferable (pozidriv ?)
Or for members of the forum who are not very skilled with screws and screwdrivers.

Except it doesn’t work, as shown by the many “stripped screw” threads. Yes, you can get away with it in a pinch, but it is bad practice to use the wrong tool for a job.

That's why I removed my splash guard in my first civic when I got it. Cars used to not have any guard and they worked fine.

Depending where you live, around here (Montreal) with the long winter and calcium on the roads we certainly need them
Ah true. I live down in South Florida so there isn't any salt on the roads, thank goodness haha.
