Build delay number like 1,000 ?. So my clutch was definitely worn and pretty beat up and 4th was gone but we couldn’t properly diagnose the tranny while it was on the car bc it wouldn’t go into gear so we assumed the clutch went out. Once the new clutch was on the tranny I guess everything re aligned again and since there was a much better grab with the new clutch I guess it just messed up my 1st and 2nd. (Don’t remember how they explained it but it made sense when they told me.) @lucifer.fc1 on ig was able to diagnose it properly since he’s on his 3rd and hopefully last tranny since he went ppg @v.c.d.racing in El Monte is taking care of the new install (not sure if any of those guys are on here but they’re on ig and are pretty knowledgeable they track their own si’s) Moving forward, I decided just to spend the extra money on quality parts and bought the PPG L series Gear set from Jeremy @drag_cartel for a good chunk of change which I’m hoping can be in the car by next week. ? Will try keeping updates with the new gear set as soon as I get the car back!

Update: So 4th gear forsure broke unfortunately the videos I screen recorded are too long to put on here but I took screenshots. Hopefully I’ll have to car back tomorrow or Saturday I’ll update this thread frequently with the new gears might even make a video of my first ride so everybody can watch me stall with the new gears and clutch ? Curious if anybody knows how long the break in period is for a fresh new gear set?

I don’t have that much done to the car imo but I’m slowly getting there. I’m doing a somewhat budget build so what ever parts I find first that are on my list to buy will be the ones I get first.
I recently picked up a pair of av06 but the offset on them is +24 which pokes way too much since I wanna run federal 595 rsrr 255/40/15. I’ll be picking up my new rims in a week or so.
My next engine modification was going to be a GTX 2867 2nd gen Big Turbo but I’m going to hold off until I build my motor hopefully within a few months.

I picked up a Retrofit type r bumper off somebody a couple days ago and I’ve decided to paint it myself. I’ve never painted something this big before so it’ll forsure be a new experience. I picked it up for $100 (when I say budget build I mean it lmao) & I also picked up some 2020 White Fog light garnishes off a member here for $60 dollars which I will get wrapped in carbon since I can’t afford real carbon :/

Hey all, haven’t been active on this thread I’ve been trying to figure out my 3rd gear issue. Just a little update I got the ppg tranny back about 2 weeks ago and my cmc was blown my kzcmc and prl line are getting installed as I write this update. Hopefully this will fix the 3rd gear issue that I’m having and the loss of pressure in the cmc. I’ve been working on a video so you guys can hear the car is running right now.

I also picked up these avids 3 days ago for a killer deal still deciding what color I want to paint them I’m thinking gunmetal ?

Should have the wheels on in a week or two. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for keeping us updated but did you run your car hard at all? Im still stuck on getting a better turbo but im seeing more people lose their 4th gears or blowing their motors and im fbo right now and im not too sure if i want to keep modding...

I did roll race a couple times but not anything crazy. I did hit the canyons every other week or at least once a month. From what I’ve seen 4th seems to weaken t the point where it randomly blows when you’re cruising or step on the throttle lightly

Seems like a hit or miss... i really want to add power to my car but seeing stuff like that turns me off lol

Hey all, hope all is good. it’s been a while since I posted on this but I’m back. Just a quick little update on what I’ve gotten my hands on and issues. I finally put on my wheels (avids 255/35/18/) and my bc coils I recently picked up some custom carbon fenders, type r retro fit headlight, custom side extensions & itzkevsters taillights. I think I’m pretty much done with cosmetics besides the roof wrap and carbon trunk if I can get my hands on the one that has the si spoiler not the duckbill. ISSUES: would be my knock sensor is still dropping 1 or 2 when I let off the throttle slowly and when I cruise to a stop from neutral I drops down to a max of 10. It fluctuates between .35 and .49. Still haven’t figured it out but I’m going to get my synchros swapped out so I’ll just have the shop look at it.

I also posted a YouTube video pretty much giving an overview of what I had on the car when I recorded that video like a month ago lol (I’ve been procrastinating sorry haha). Here’s the link if anybody is interested: I’ll be posting more in the future most likely me taking apart the car to install the new parts



I put in 2 ppg clips in there if anyone is curious on how the ppg tranny sounds.

Here’s what the car currently Looks like now. Keep in mind I haven’t taken any good pictures and will not until I put on my new parts so ignore the dust it’s been collecting lol
