Stock lx headunit swap to Oem Honda touchscreen

Has anyone with a plane Jane LX swap out the cheaper honda headunit for the one in the sport hatch? Will it work? Plug in play or will there be lots of splicing or finding correct wiring harnesses? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Some people here have done it. You'll have to look back a few pages in this forum.

It's *mostly* plug and play with the addition of a wire or two as long you don't get the unit that needs the external amp. I think the big difference was with the microphone.

Are you talking about the touring HU? Look for a used one as a new one is over $1k.

There's a thread on installing a Kenwood 7 inch touchscreen in a Civic LX. Probably A LOT better than buying a Honda Touchscreen Head Unit.

Is that advice really on point with regards to this particular platform?

We're three years into this car and I think people are still screwing around with that Metra harness, mic and backup camera.

The OEM unit and Phoenix-style units seem to be basically plug and play.
