This question goes to all who have done steering wheel swaps : Can the silver trim that runs around the steering wheel be removed from the steering wheel buttons and black plastic bottom triangle piece as well? I'm wanting to separate them and paint the silver only without having to mask off the button panels and the bottom piece. I've seen people remove them and transfer them as a unit to the new wheel, but nobody has taken them apart further than that in other videos. Seeing if anyone else has done something similar. I'm looking for a proper way to do what those kits are on amazon are doing with the double sided sticky tape covers, which I've never been a fan of. But to use paint instead.
