We had the dealer install 15" Michelin snows and Honda steel wheels on our Touring before we took delivery (actually haven't needed them yet - no snow).
The black wheels look like sh_t. Any suggestions - wheel covers (do they stay on)..................
Thanks Cheers p

Did the same thing but have 16" steelies replacing the 17" all- season. I was hoping to get a small centre cap like you see on police cars. The design of the Honda wheels doesn't look like this option will work. Someone told me Honda hubcaps screw on using the lug nuts so you never loose them. In no rush so I'm staying with mean look for now.

For about the same price as you'd pay for a set of hubcaps on top of the cost of the steel rims you could have likely just purchased a standard pair of rims (albeit cheap ones) from something like TireRack. They had steels for around $60 each and decent looking cheapo rims starting at around $90.

I thought about that but have some concerns regarding the qualiy of some budget foreign wheels coming into North America.

I am using my factory steelies for snow tires as well. I bought some Rustoleum Peel Coat paint to change them to a silver color and will run them without hubcaps.

We put Honda factory 16" steel wheels on my wifes HRV and they are silver. They look pretty good. I asked my dealer about silver steel wheels for my Civic but they said they only came in black. Guess there's something different. Too bad. Black does look a bit meaner on the W.O.P. I do like hondo's caps more.

Yeah, when I first got the new wheels mounted I thought they looked pretty decent on their own. But I had already bought the wheel covers so I put them on anyway. I like it better but WOP can definitely get away with just black wheels.

I hate wheel covers. When I took delivery of my LX, my daughter removed the wheel covers while I was chatting with the salesman. We left them sitting on the walkway by the front door of the dealer. I told the salesman they were his Christmas present. :D

You could have sold them for $50 min. to a Touring owner

I found that the ones held on with the metal wire type clips cause the steelies to rust and look terrible a few months in. I leave mine black and repaint every two years. I do regret not spending twice the cash on good quality winter alloy rims but I was put off by the fact that most are bolt centric and can cause studs to shear. I've found a few with the proper offset and hub centric ring so maybe next year I'll upgrade.

The ones I bought use plastic clips that touch the steel, the metal wire is behind them to provide tension. I don't think the metal wire touches the rims, but I'll see how they look in the spring when I put the normal rims/tires back.

Not sure why a Touring owner would want them. I am sure that it wouldn't be worth my time to find a willing buyer and ship them. What was worth my time was the look on the faces of the salesmen who watched my teenage daughter disassemble parts from the Civic as I was taking delivery (wheel covers, wheel locks, DRL fuse).
