As you are replacing your engine with the (slightly) more powerful Si engine, are you planning to beef up the CVT or swap to a manual transmission?

I never put the car on dyno! But I believe the tq was limited to 250! And whp should have been around 240 at least. I’m not going to just throw a high number, just telling the least possible! Also I was running 22 pounds of boost!
Wow, even your low estimate is a lot higher than the 204hp/199tq provided by the base maps!

I bet it drove awesome though :headbang:

The torque was limited everywhere so the CVT is fine, but I’m planning to do the manual swap once this platform gets older because there aren’t much used parts out there!

@Pouyan Pasyar If the torque was limited, does that mean it was something else about your setup that threw the rod? I thought torque would slip a cvt before it would bend or throw a rod.

The thrown rod is still a question! It wasn’t because of torque! My mechanic said that the tune was bad probably. 30 miles before the engine blown it had problem starting up with the new tune uploaded, so I flashed back to previous version and started just fine. I was freaked out at the moment!

I think you are talking about @yht29

some of you wrote about that there was nothing to worry about if driven conservatively. I just had a rod blast out from under the engine. Conservative CVT guy here with a basic ass +6 tune. Honda is covering it however. But the service advisor was telling me there has been a technical bulletin on the rods. The rods are either built soft or just designed for the minimum tolerance. But some yall can keep telling yourself that. I do feel these are a ticking time bomb, and oddly enough the CVT was just fine.

So tell me, what about the tune was "bad"?

I reduced your knock control values compared to the basemap, softened the boost pressure down low compared to the basemap, and fueling was spot on.

Do I need to post the numerous times in our email conversation where I told you to stop engaging in abusive behavior to the car?

Pretty sure you dont need to defend your self...

We all know he wasn't nice with the engine.

You can easily tell just by the fart can he had and the licence plate I race U

The CVT isn't exactly easy on the motor too since it likes to stay at peak TQ at 3000-4000 rpm

Hi Derek,
Yes I agree I’m completely aware of that and even posted the email in the thread! I know that even boost was softened and everything! And after we talked I never said the tune was the cause anymore! I believe the car couldn’t tolerate anymore. It was what the mechanic said and I just quoted him. I thank you for all the work you put in the tuning process for my car. Thanks a lot!

Clearly that's in dispute. Are you familar with Google Cache and Archive.org? These are very well known resources for looking at recently changed webpages.

https://www.lifewire.com/highlight-keyword-google-cache-search-1616811

As an example - clicking on this link:

Shows the page is private

But clicking on the cached link: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...ar.online/turbofk7+&cd=10&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

Shows plenty:

For the record, I doubt anyone is going to 'copy your work'

LEARN FROM THIS. DON'T POST EASILY IDENTIFIABLE INFO ONLINE (real name, license plate, etc)
I think some people just don't get that once it's posted online you're going to have a hard time deleting it off the internet. (IE Beyonce trying to delete a photo off the internet..)
