Is this a metal cap that can be removed? Was thinking about spraying the whole thing black. Has anyone done that?

It appears to be welded onto the end of the exhaust, but I would guess any shop that does exhaust work could cut it off and weld it back on.

I spray painted my Si tip with high temperature primer & high temperature black paint. I'd advise wet sanding the metal first to give the paint a better surface to bond too. I just masked off rear of car & painted in place. HTH

I think the primer really helps the top coat bond. It hardly adds any extra time, as it dries fast. I used it & it has held up really well.

That looks good. I'm an old fart too so keeping the large HDMI chrome tip blackened should help soften the view from behind for the 50+ crowd.
