Spongy brakes and strange sound

For some reason, my brakes feel spongy and I have to sometimes push in a decent amount on the brake pedal to brake. There is also still a strange sound that I still sometimes hear. Anyone else experience this?

I’ve had my car for a year now and I’ve always felt my brakes were a tad spongy. Bought some goodridge lines but decided to just bleed the brakes first in case there was air in the system from the factory. You wouldnt think there would be. To my surprise there was a little bit of air bubbles that came out of the drivers fromt caliper. Now the brakes feel a bit more solid but I still would like a stiffer pedal. May still install the SS lines some day as a handful of people have claimed they improve pedal feel noticably in normal driving.
