Hello everyone,

I hacked my civic 1600 head unit by online hacking through Hondahack.org
The hacking is done successfully and greatly
But the important apps like google navigation and waze are very slowly and sometimes cause interruptions and slowing in system

I need to know
1-Is there any problem from honda hack on the system of car itself as, sensors ,performance of the car?

2-what about the car guarantee of car , my car is new 2018 model and still in guarantee ?

3-How to uninstall the hack and return to the factory system?

4-what the real benefits from hacking if the important apps performance is slow and weak because the car screen hardware as memory and processor are weak?

Thanx alot

Check out the Honda hack Forum...

I think they are working, or have a Potential solution to speed up the head Unit ,( provided Honda hack is installed) but at the moment it is very complex, GEEK stuff, and not yet really ready for general easy use.

Note: Honda hack itself does NOT slow down the Head Unit.. but installing Resource Hungy Apps does, (very easily).

(1) Should not affect car's systems
(2) You hacked the system -- most dealers will consider that has voided any warranty on the unit.
(3) I believe there is a way.. once again, check the forum .. the developer is very good at responding to questions.
(4) You can install apps that do not heavily load the system, that are not already available through Android Auto.

Your modern phone is far more powerful than the Honda unit, that is already doing car system work.
Far better to run apps like Warez on your phone, and let Android AUuo display them on the head Unit display.

I know that the hack doesn't slow the unit, but the unit itself is too slow
My phone is tooo faster than it, navigation through mobile is better.

Well Honda will argue that their Unit is fast enough to do what THEY Designed it to do, and really they are correct. They did not design the unit to be able to add Apps. (For so many reasons, including Liability as probably being #1)

The impression I got from reading some recent posts about Honda Hack, is that they may have a method to speed up the base Honda Unit by tweaking some of the system parameters. IF this made the unit more responsive, that would be great, even if it was not enough to make the Bigger Addon Apps run smoothly enough .. as we know, they will probably ALWAYS run faster on the Smartphone -- The Honda Unit has limited CPU cores, limited Ram etc, compaired with more modern Android devices.

The other thing to consider, is that the Honda Unit is running a much eariler version of the OS. The apps on the unit are designed for the Early OS.
The modern Apps, are mostly optimized for at least Ore0 or above, and may well have issues running on such an early Honda OS.

Even if you could update the OS in the Honda Unit, you would then probably hit issue with the original Honda Apps, not liking to run with the later OS.

In Hindsight, AA is a very neat solution. As smartphone increase in Power, you have that benefit of be able to run faster, more modern and powerful apps, without having to upgrade the Honda Unit,
The Honda Unit is then only required to run the established Honda System software, and there is really no need to change that car software for the given car.
(Just FIX the BUGS !!! )
