Up for sale is a Burger Motorsports JB4 tuner with wireless connection kit for the Civic Type R. It's mainly for people who want to tune the CTR without jailbreaking the ECU. Power gain is very noticeable on the butt dyno. And the gauges are easy to read and configure with the optional mobile app (IOS or Android). No unlocking necessary as tuner is not locked onto the ECU.

Reason for sale: I'm returning the car to mostly stock for now.

I can vouch! The JB4 is a very worth while device for those that do NOT want to go the route of Hondata or Ktuner. The JB4 was fantastic for me, but I wanted a legit tune.


Based on the Butt Dyno, I wager I was at about 320-330 WHP and 300 TRQ. This is based on how my FBO Hondata Base Map felt with an off the shelf basemap (I dynoed at 345/309 with Hondata basemap) and The JB4 felt very similar in my best opinion.

For a tuning novice, what exactly is different from this versus Hondata/Ktuner? Is this a safer bet for anyone hesitant about using Ktuner/Hondata due to warranty concerns?

Hondata can get incredibly elaborate and gives more tuning options. The tune from the JB4 is very mild and not really able to be customized.
