Got my winter wheels on today. It's supposed to snow this weekend so the HPT tires had to go. Goodbye grip, I will miss you! Wheels are 17s off an older Civic.

I'm trying to wait as long as possible before switching (still getting some days in the 70s here) but I got my winter wheels/tires last week and currently sitting in my garage.

They are good to have, but I have to say, the loss of grip is depressing

It really is! Ended up getting 17x7 +45 EX-T alloys for my winter wheels, had them on for about a week a it was a huge difference in handling quality, temperature spiked up around 25-30 Celsius in my area so I tossed my 235's back on. Dreading the day that I have to switch back! Probably will need to around the start of November!

I'm looking for this set up for mine. Where'd you get it and how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking

I'd love an explanation on what Tires & Wheels to get for winter. I live in New Hampshire. Plenty of Winter here. I figure I want to save my pretty rims and switch to winter wheels every year.

15"? they're less $$$, will they look dumb? Bad idea?

How about rims... there are the steelies, but what about the more open ones, they look better, but will they just get packed with snow?

I bet some of you have opinions. ;-)

Usually, we do a minus-one configuration for winter tires.
If I remember correctly, your HB came with 17-inch tires. So, 16-inch would be good.

The sport came with 18". Tire Rack suggests 15" snow wheel packages.

I stand corrected.
If the car came with 18-inch, I would suggest 17-inch for winter.
Strange that Tirerack would recommend 15-inch. It will probably look funny.

Is there a downside to -2?
Skinnier tires will be better in snow because less snow to push through.
However, there will be loss in performance; keep in mind that it does not snow everyday and you will want some fun in these dry days. More importantly, too small of tires would look funny. LOL.

I think the reason of the -1 configuration is not to change the driving dynamics too much.

You can well imagine the difference in driving the same car in 18-inch and 15-inch tires.
