I know a lot of the US is getting dumped on right now.

Glad to share that the Si is truckin through half a foot of snow in Indianapolis like a champ today. I think the LSD helps a lot as well.

Running 17x7 OEM accessory wheels with Continental VikingContact 7 tires. Size 215/50R17

Pretty much a waste of money for 99% of the time in central Indiana, but they’re killin it today, I tell u wHat

215/17inch winter tire perfect!

Why does the back of the car get caked up like that with snow or dirt? It cant be from the back tires. I noticed that today as well. Completely covers up the plate.

i assume it's the vortex of air that lift the snow under and around the car and the car being hotter it stick. never happen in the city, it was after a 1h drive on back roads

I have the same, 215/50R17 Nokian Hakka 3s on my Si, and of course they've barely been tested since I put them on. Here in Massachusetts when we get 8" of snow they put down 6" of salt on the roads, so you drive on salt more than snow.

The only way to really drive on snow is to go drive out in it before the plows and salt trucks turn the roads into gravel river beds.

After having snow tires on my previous two cars for like the past 15+ years, this is the first year I haven’t had snow tires. I just bought my 20 si at the end of December so didn’t have an extra grand to buy a set of wheels/tires. Have to say the stock tires are absolute garbage in the snow and will be setting aside money through the year to buy a set for next winter.

Ran 16's on my Sport Touring with some nice snow tires (can't remember I think it was the wintercontacts, bought them used on here for a steal) and it was amazing. Snow tires on a FWD car > all seasons on AWD car. It's crazy how using equipment meant for certain conditions makes such a difference lol. I will always run snow tires from here on out.

Probably helps out with people who like to ignore maintenance on their car until failure as well.

Having to change twice a year at least gets some eyes on the brakes and suspension components, as well as lug nut torque.

When down 1” in wheel diameter with Blizzaks mounted. Excellent steering and stopping on slick surfaces. However when you run into drifting powder around a foot or so the lack of ground clearance will get you hung up. Keep a shovel in the trunk.

Agreed, and the LSD makes a noticeable difference as well.

I've also noticed a significant improvement in handling in the cold too. Right before I swapped my A/S tires off, they were getting noticeably hard. That being said, can't wait to mount my A/S back on after Easter.
