What you can do is buy a high flow air filter that goes right into the airbox. I got myself one from PRL. It only adds a few hp and you can hear it a liiiiitle bit when accelerating. its only $50 and it's a good alternative to a full intake that costs $400 and gives you only a tiny bit more hp.

Just curious why didn't you do the PRL stage 1 intake for another $40?

i got PRL intake tube and aFe ProDry ... i'm just curious
So how did it feel and sound after you installed? I am seriously thinking still about going this route and not doing the PRL CAI, I don't want any of the ricer intake whooosh sounds. I wonder how the AEM dry filter compares to the Oiled Filter PRL uses? I would love not to have to oil a filter as if done incorrectly with too much it can clog the MAF.

The PRL tube isn’t that much of an upgrade over the stock one. Might as well leave the stock one on. The Mishimoto intake tube on the other hand looks good.

I bought the Afe dry pro S filter and installed it over the weekend. I can actually feel the car is smoother even when shifting. It may have added a few HP's most likely but I wanted everything to stock and not draw any attention to performance mods since I will be doing the tune next, just wanted to keep it stealth I guess.
