Had a skunk2 knob on my previous civics. Perfect heavy weight from my experience. I think these are made in Taiwan hence the decent price, but they are good quality. I decided to go with a different route with the type r knob and should be getting it this week.

So I did not realize I was able to lower the Type R shift knob lower.... either way it was a little too light so I got the Skunk2. Amazing. I highly recommend these weighted shift knobs!

Can't wait to put in my short shift adapter.

What makes these better than the original knob?

Personal preference! Just like clothes, shoes, shows, etc etc everyone just has their own taste. The Skunk2 is heavy - like 1 pound heavy vs 1/2 pound Type R shift knob. The Skunk2 is also easier for me to grip hehe

How much lower were you able to have it? 1" ?? since I feel the OEM height of the shift knob is way to tall needs to be a little lower...:hmm:

If I lower the locking nut where the bottom lines with the threads, the type r shift knob will fit perfectly. Not sure if that helps...

Edit:

Okay so correction, the type r knob can be threaded down to the max. Unfortunately numbers don't line up but you can have it very low.

Is the CTR shifter knob metal or a different material? I am getting tired of dealing with the hot stock shifter knob.

I'm going to look into a Raceseng knob. Ran one on my mustang and loved it. Going to have a delrin outside shell with a translucent red core with the shift pattern engraved. Should look awesome and they best part it wont get hot or cold like the stock knob does because of the delrin. you can pretty much customize any of there shift knobs any way you want which is cool. A little pricey since they are custom made but worth it to me.
