If you’re not a crazy Honda fanatic I think a SI coupe with the money saved dumped into mods will be a faster car than the Type-R. But once you mod the R...
I don't think it will be faster, but I do think a modded SI is probably a more smiles per dollar car than a CTR. Trying to make an SI reliably make over 300hp is not super easy.

Depends on where you want to be faster I guess. CTR will generally always have higher peak power, but you could modify an Si to produce power down low (say 1500-2500 RPM) which would probably be higher than the CTR. Kind of creates a car that wants to get up and go from a dig (even if it's hitting the ground running).
