Front grille has openings for a clip style emblem but the black emblem I want to install is in this style. I figure it's just gonna stick on and hold but are there any downsides to leaving these holes open?

The locator pins on the emblem go in the holes. I wouldn't worry about sealing them.

Nah there's nothing to attach to, the regular silver Honda emblem the black grille came with has a clip in style that goes into those 4 holes. But mine will end up just sticking to the spot so just wanted to make sure the unused 4 holes would be fine in regards to like water etc.

Oh, ok I see now. Yeah, I would for sure leave the bottom ones open for water drainage.
