hi, guys, this is my first post I just got my si, I'm not really loving the wheel gap so if anyone knows whether I should save for coilovers or just go for some Eibach lowering springs please give me your opinion. I would also love to hear if one of you bought Eibach springs how differently the car rides. thank you in advance

ive always just went with springs. coilovers are expensive as fuck.

also the front wheel gap isnt bad but the rear is like 1.5 inches taller on the stock suspension. honda should have made the rear gap the same as the front.

depends on the springs and COs. but ive never had issues with eibach springs before. ive had them on previous civics and they always had a nice drop, rode nice and offered great flat cornering performance.

to me, the only reason id ever get COs is if i was planning on raising and lowering the car on a regular basis, which i would never do so to me there is no point in spending over 1k on COs. buy springs and use the remainder of cash that you save for other mods like hondata or ktuner.

Plus, coilovers will interfere with your adaptive damper system and will throw lights on the dash. Springs won't. Hopefully a company comes out with coilovers that have a bypass for the ADS.

ST suspension already has a set with a seperate cancellation kit. ST is a doughter brand of KW.
I'm waiting for a KW var 1 with the cancellation kit.

Welcome to the forum, @nicoc1 ! You might want to scroll through this thread, lots of good info regarding Eibach and our Si setup, specifically. Lots of good info floating around that one.

I appreciate the comment! I didn't think anybody had devised a system to defeat the annoying ADS light. Thanks!

I’m running lowering springs currently and wish I went coil overs, ADS or not. (Civic si). My spring rate isn’t stiff enough for me personally, and would like the adjustability of the coil overs. The rest of the ADS features would still turn on i assume even with a CEL because the dampers are changed, just the suspension wouldn’t be changed (as you coils are already stiffer). With my ride height and stock dampers, when I hit a particularly bumpy area, the ride bounce will cause me to rub. I feel with coilovers, this wouldn’t happen.

Let me add that this is when I’m driving spiritedly going straight

At first I wanted springs but in my country you're f*cked if the car sits lower then 11cm at its lowest point for the annual inspection. With coilovers you can adjust the ride height before going to the inspection.
But I also didn't want the ADS light at the dash (the inspection will notice this too).
I emailed KW if they have a kit and you told me we can use this one : http://www.kwsuspensions.com/produc...dc-cancellation-vw-golf-vii-gti-68510342.html

The suspension specialist I went too told me that with this cancellation kit all the other functions still work. So no ADS light and still all the functions except for the suspension.
