Any harness. The OEM safety systems account for some movement to occur, allowing you to hit the airbags in a collision. The harness will hold you tightly to the seat. If you come to an immediate stop and your head isn’t restrained with something like a HANS device, you break your neck. This is how Dale Earnhardt died.

More info on HANS device here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HANS_device

To be clear, its absolutely fine to use these for show purposes, but for normal street driving you should retain the use of the normal seat belts.
Thanks.

Sorry to re-iterate, but for the track with a HANS device these are good? Just not w/o a helmet and HANS device right?

So the harness causes your body to be held tightly to the seat of the car, so in the event of an accident the only part of your body that can move is your head which can cause severe neck injury. That's why they invented the HANS device. It's purpose is to brace your head and neck while using a harness and the helmet is to protect your head from impact. The oem seat restraints allow for some movement in the event of an accident to let your body hit the airbag which cushions the impact and lightens the load on the neck

In terms of the actual Ballade harness mount? I’m not 100% sure that it’s been tested for track use. So many of these aftermarket parts are really just for looks. I know there was a thread on here where someone fitted a Schroth harness that utilized the OEM rear seat belt mounts. That was for sure designed for track use.

Don't some racing harnesses like the schroth and Takada have sewn in stretch points or threads for this purpose of some movement? Also some have anti-sumarine technology. Otherwise I guess you'll be riding around with your helmet and HANS device on everything your drive your car!

SCHROTH asm® is a patented energy-conversion system designed to help prevent submarining in the event of an accident. The asm® system is located at the in-board shoulder belt. It is designed to "elongate" allowing a slight rotation of the upper torso in the very early milliseconds of a crash. This rotation of the upper body also rotates the pelvis slightly and loads the lap belts earlier, preventing the body from submarining under the lap belts. (see video - English) The asm® system is standard on all 4 point
