My rain tires will be my stock Contis on the stock rims. The added weight in the standing water can be a plus. Especially at 10 lbs on each corner. In my mind anyway. I know that professional cars don't do this. It's come in the pits, slap on a set of wets and send them out. Also they disconnect the bar.

Do people use their OEM lug nuts with the NSX wheels? Do they turn down their regular 22mm socket for them(looks like it'll be quite a bit difference to turn down...)? The Counter bore in the NSX wheels are much smaller ID than the stock CTR wheels. Do NSX come with smaller socket size nuts?

Some quick measurement looks like at the "points" of the hex the socket will just have like 0.060" of wall thickness for a turned down socket, doesn't seem like a lot....

Are there smaller nuts that has the proper seat for the OEM wheels?

No proper lug nuts without the use of an adapter (taper to ball seat) that I’ve found yet. If you read through the threads there are many who run OEM lug nuts. It seems like you do need a thin wall socket and you’re correct, clearance is very tight. I believe the nsx uses a 17mm socket to tighten the wheels. I’ve asked around on sockets. Crazykiwi turns down impact sockets I believe, others used what they had and it happened to work. There are some decent thin walled 22mm sockets out there. If someone has a favorite, please post it! Thanks.

I am getting one with plastic sleeve on Amazon to see if that works.
i bought that one too. works great on the 20s but doesn't fit for the Ys (sleeve off).
wish i still had access to the lathe at the university. i'd turn everyone's sockets for free :D

They are still lighter than the stock wheels by quite a bit, and are the same weight as the OZ Ultraleggeras for half the money....(and obiviously cheaper than NSX wheels too, which are very light). I'd consider them just for use with "transit/wet" tires and backup autoX wheels too.

Just do a 5 set custom volk order. I’m sure you’ll be able to get 5 people to buy them

Solution is quite simple and cost effective. I use Motorsports Hardware which makes lugs and nuts for racing and supercars. I use the conical to ball seat adapters at $1/each and black open ended 17mm nuts at $2/each on my OEM NSX wheels since April. Lug nuts use 17mm socket and any of my Craftsman, Schwaben torque limiting, etc sockets work fine for air tools and hand torquing.

Best of all I can move the lug nuts between conical and ball seat wheels anytime using just one set of nuts.

Remind me what are DS spec wheels? I’ve struck a major partnership with Vivid Racing whereby our FK8 CTR Product Reviews FB group members get best pricing on any wheel available through Vivid.
