Just a reminder, STH has been reclassed to GST. I just ordered my new magnetic class from Autocross Digits and picked up a "C" class for NASA events to save on shipping.

I have my first event of the year at the Cincy region on 4/12 (fun event) and 4/13 (points event #1).

I also just got a set of RE71RS (245-40) tires for my 18x9 rims and a set of G-Loc R6 pads. I get the tires mounted this Thursday and ordered them from Tire Rack with the heat cycle option. I hope this will take less time to get up to grip. My pads will take a couple of weeks to get and then I have to bed them in. There is some heat cycling that I have to do on them similar to what EBC has you do. I'll run my older EBC Yellows for now.

I plan to run my Tein EDFC Active Pro setup and try to dial in cold settings and warm settings by monitoring peak g-forces to share. I'll also be monitoring tire temps with my needle probe thermometer and pressures to try and find the best cases for handling. The grip should go up a bit from last year, so I hope to move up to first place more often. We'll see how that works out.

I have several courses to choose from this year in the Dayton, OH area. The schedule looks pretty good between all of the venues. Some events overlap, so I'll have to decide which one to attend as the time gets nearer.

My car is running strong at 208k miles and should be reaching it's peak performance. I hope I can match the car's potential this year.

What does everyone else have planned for this year for mods and venues? Hopefully we can share some experiences and maybe meet up at some events in our areas.

Starting off to be a wonderful morning for SCCA Cincy region autocross. 32F in Ohio, warming up to 42F by the time we hit the course. Heading to the Reds game after this fun event. Should be a fun day all around.

Cold and wet for todays first points event. Will learn wet setup. Not a complete loss.

A quick update to my last post. I'm being bumped out of GST and into some modified class. Before I got my tires and suspension mods, I was misclassed as STX my first year in autox. Some classing official later suggested STH as a more appropriate fit. Nobody really took much notice of my car when I wasn't winning. Now that I'm 2 seconds ahead, people started complaining. I have always been tuned and pretty much always on flex fuel. A lot of people knew that including one of the staff at the Cincy event. It was never a secret and often told people that rode along. It was never a big deal until now. I didn't pay much attention either because it was everything I could do to place 3rd on occasion. When I was approached at the end of the trophy session, I was completely on board with moving to another class, no problem. I just want to run the car and it makes no difference to me which class. I'm not in this for points or trophies and don't want to take that away from people that are. This is just a hobby of mine and safer than the streets. Hopefully we can find a class before the next event so I can register again.

With that said, I'll leave this thread since it doesn't apply to me anymore.

Are you going to run XA now? I need to make the short trip up from the CKR Region to Traders World. My FK8 is in XA because of the Spoon Stiff Brace and Rigid Collars. I'm still on the OE shocks/Springs, the PO took off the Ohlins before I bought the car.

Yes. Just worked it out with Jo (chair person with red R) to run XA. I am still learning to drive on my recent mods. There is so much more grip now that it's throwing me off. I am faster all around the course and need to practice slipping into 3rd gear. I can't keep running on the limiter as much as I am. The Cincy course is so rough that I'm missing 3rd as I'm bouncing around on a shift. Grabbed 5th in an early run. My Acuity shifter mods are nice for the street but may be too narrow for a rough course. Just need to practice.

There is a NASA event with MVSCC at Jeffersonville outlet mall on May 4th. That course is smooth and we get 5 runs in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. Fantastic group to run with. Check it out if you can make it, weather permitting of course.

I will have to check that group out! I will be at the SCCA Street Car Shootout in St. Louis that weekend.
