I have been looking for a new Grey Metallic Sedan for some time now. Biggest issue has been I do not pay MSRP, nor do I agree until I have all all of the purchasing information, extra fees, etc. All of the under MSRP responses listed online have been misleading. Either the listed price includes the new college grad and the 1st responder discount or the markdown includes a service agreement.
But this is a new tactic for me. A dealer calls me from 319 499-4637 and introduces himself as a salesman from Billion Honda in Iowa City, Ia. As we discuss a deal, he mentions that I stated in previous conversation that I might order a new 2021 at MSRP, but I would never pay MSRP on a new vehicle just prior to the new model year. He told me they just got a notice this morning from Honda, "Honda is delivering all 2020 orders and will not be making a 2021 Honda Civic Si. Production will resume in 2022 for the Si"
Checking the area code with my text communications, the area codes match.
Can anyone validate this notice or is it just pressure sales?
