only reason I ask is because my Sti required tune when added downpipe (catted/catless) and intake...
There are sensors associated with both of those parts (the downpipe and intake) which is why you'd want a tune with those. After the air leaves the downpipe in the CTR, it's no longer metered so it makes no difference whether you tune or not (in terms of the ECU's concern of throwing lights). You can still tune it since you could theoretically be moving more air out, but it's not required.

The Downpipe would probably require a tune, not for front pipe

hello @RV6 , when are you shipping front pipe and downpipe combo orders? I put my order last week but I haven't got any news yet.

Sorry for the late reply. We are a bit backed up from a massive amount of order during this COVID thing. However all non ceramic coated orders should be shipped at this point.

Very Nice!
Which is better, ceramic coat or heat wrap?

So many different opinions on this. Is there any real world testing that shows which 1 is better?

Also I'm interested in your catless downpipe and your front pipe.

I've heard of people getting check engine lights going catless. Do you have a fix for this or do I need to just install some spark plug defoulers for the sensor?

I like ceramic coat since it is bonded with the surface. The silver version really cuts back on the radiant heat. You can put your hand right next to it.

We included a defouler that we tested to work in most situations. However you might still get a random CEL.

Can you really gain 12hp just from the front pipe alone on an otherwise stock car? I know there are no ecu readings past the downpipe, but that’s a really good gain if true ! I did some side by side comparisons with another CTR who has the PRL HVI also no tune and both cars accelerate the same. I am 100% stock. Would be interesting to see what a front pipe alone can do! It does bolt up to a stock downpipe, correct ?

I plan on going Catless DP with the stock exhaust, will changing the front pipe make any drastic change to sound? Im looking for louder... not LOUD, just louder and deeper.

Nah, almost all the sound difference will come from the downpipe, not FP

But..
PRL trapped the highest mph @109 with just their front pipe as a mod. So it seems it is doing something.

Then why even ask? If you believe that then have at it.

Maybe with an aftermarket exhaust. I noticed little to no difference after a front and down pipe install.
