May not be an actual issue, but just wondering.

Car is one week old and has 900 km on the clock with factory fill. Twice now, it had a "rough" start with ambient temperature here 15 degrees Celsius.

Starter tries to start the engine and finally it manages, but it can take up to 2 seconds. It is warm outside, lots of fuel inside so just wondering...

Am I overthinking? :D

Hi guys, I still have this issue every now and then. I changed station to a different location and brand.

No one else having problems like this? Is this fuel related issue?

I had this happen on a cold morning. I thought it could have been battery related in my case since the car was sitting for a week. I may have to dump some fuel stabilizer into my tanks for the winters like I do my motorcycles.

I have this issue on my new Si, at least 4-5 times a week it really struggles to start, doesn't matter if it's been sitting a few hours or a couple days, it's just random. It will crank for an extended period of time and then sputter / gurgle to life.

When I went to purchase my Si the battery was dead, they gave me a new one just to be on the safe side.

For reference my 17 hatch EX I traded in never did this for the 7k miles I owned it, fired right up every single time without hesitation.

I believe mine cranks fine, haven’t noticed if otherwise, but cranks for an extended period and then struggles to sputter to life. Reminds me of like a bad gas situation but different stations don’t change anything.

Edit: engine turns slowly when it finally gets going until it’s actually running as it should. Kind of like a lawn mower that hasn’t been started in a while.

if your battery is healthy it shouldn't be anything to worry about. Have it tested next time you get an oil change or whatever.

If you have water in gas, water may still there even with few gas fill up

1- I'll put some Gas-Line Antifreeze to removes water from the fuel system to prevent freeze up / corrosion as well as cleans your fuel injectors.
You should not have no more issue if it is from gas after half hour driving

2- Check battery.

Also make sure to disable the ECON mode. Had this issues with previous models and it was all related to the ECON mode.

Water in gas may cause lack of power at low speed
