I had the FK8 RMM in my tuned 2016 EXL. I didn't have any inserts, the only noticeable NVH was right at start up. Other than that there was no NVH while at idle or with the AC on like other RMMs. There was a slight improvement with wheel hop, that probably would've been completely gone with the Powerflex insert. Either way I was happy with the upgrade. You can probably find one on Ebay for less than $100.

In my 11th Gen Sport Touring I had the PRL RMM for awhile, but I run the AC all the time so the NVH got a bit much. Changed to the FL5 RMM and couldn't be happier. I may try the FL5 Powerflex insert later on just to try it.
As a warning the FL5 powerflex inserts are two pieces and they fill all the voids similar to Perrin. They might not be as NVH friendly as the FK8 powerflex insert that is one piece and has 4 prongs and doesn’t fill all the voids.

That's where I hesitate. I mean it's not a super cheap mod if you're not sure. The CTR RMM is what, around $150?
Fk8 rmm can be found for $50 on eBay

I've never liked buying used OEM parts. I'm weird that way I guess. Plus I see nothing anywhere close to $50.

Depends on the part but a rmm you should be fine 🙂 I got mine used on ebay and so far it's going swell

How much difference have you noticed, good and bad?

One other RMM question. I know about the wheel hop improvement, potentially better throttle response and better shifting for manual owners, but what about handling? It seems to me that in sharp turns and maybe quick langes changes the car would be a bit more stable. True? False?

I'm shocked to not find mention of the PRL RMM. They use a rubber bushing instead of urethane that has been much better on the street in my experience. It gets the job done with a very minimal increase of NVH.

The PRL and Hardrace FK8 units both use hardened rubber and are much better NVH wise than the polyurethane units out there. But there still is some NVH to deal with in specific areas. For the NVH sensitive crowd like myself these options may be still a bit too much. Hence the powerflex insert which introduces virtually no added NVH and still many of the benefits. I really liked the Hardrace FK8 mount except for the chatter/vibration at low rpms when launching or in second gear. Another poster said the PRL had too much NVH with the AC on.

I’ve got the PRL rmm, and it can vibrate pretty hard. 800~ rpm and reverse with AC on is crazy. I try to remember to turn the AC off when I’m parking. Once you’re moving, it’s great though.

I recently got the PRL RMM installed and it has a minimal amount of NVH, not much but it’s noticeable and can tell the difference. You can feel the engine lift better and car feels more planted overall. I also had this installed along with hardrace front lower balljoints, and whiteline lower control arm bushings so my whole front end is handling much better. Am happy so far with it, and its not like the NVH is overwhelming or bad at all but i also have a fully sound deadened vehicle which i bet plays a big part.

With AC on it barely shakes??
