Hey everyone, this is my honda Civic EX, I’ve modified the bumpers and fenders to a Type R (body kit). Now It’s time to get larger rims, but I’m confused with the sizes. I’ve visited multiple rim shops and they all suggested to go with 18x9.5, but the offset is hard to get it accurate. Some said to go with +25 offset others said 38 and 45 as I remember. All I want is to bring the wheels exactly to the side fender matching the body kit size, a little out won’t be a problem but not so much out passing the fenders. Anyone has any experience with type R and Ex to help me decide which of them would be more accurate? I appreciate it.

Keep in mind the Type R has a wider suspension setup so what's flush on an R might not be as flush here.

A guy in the shop told me that I should go with 18x9.5 with +25 offset to make it flushy and not rub the fender or the suspension. Not sure if that’s gonna look perfect though.

Best thing to do is measure how far you want the wheel to stick out relative to the stock wheel, then calculate the offset youself. All other opinions are just guesses.

The pic I posted shows the exact 18x9.5 +25 size the OP asked about compared to his 16x7 +45 stock setup. It would poke 52mm (2+ inches) beyond what he has now. I mean he can do what he wants. Aggressive is one thing but that is way over the top.

We don't know how wide his new fenders are. So those wheels might be too aggressive, or it might not. That is why he needs to do the measurements himself.

I haven’t tried that honestly but I will.

So what’s your suggestion? 18x9.5 and 38 et?
