The lack of wheel options with a +55 or +60 offset means I will likely be staying on the stock rollers. Maybe have the stock wheels powder coated bronze.

I do have 1 set of each of ADVAN RACING and VOLKS RACING wheels both 19s . Not sure about model, but i know they are good stuff and super light. Ripped off from a sold E92 M3 and twin-turboed G35. They all came from a rich kid who upgraded to C63S. Maybe I should only take the front wheels since the rear wheel is 275

Too much money, you say...

It just occurred to me that the front wheels of the NSX are 19x8.5 5x120 55mm offset. (The rear ones are too wide - 20x11.) So I'm thinking you could purchase 4 front NSX wheels and run those on a CTR. That would be a rare sight.

Or get the NSX Modulo (Honda accessory) front 19" wheels... for the low price of just $3000 or so per wheel:

Would look pretty sharp on a CTR, I'd say.

Is it safe to say then that if we get +45 or more, that would be adequate?
I honestly don't know at this point. Unfortunately, its just to early to tell. Once a few cars are out and some of the wheel distributors have a look at the set up we should have a better idea. Definitely looking like it will be tough to get close to OEM without going the custom route until some more wheel manufacturers come out with options. :(

The good news, though, is that I just discovered Michelin now has the new Pilot Sport 4S (Pilot Super Sport replacement tire) available in the OEM size! :spaz:
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?from=TD&width=245/&ratio=30&diameter=20

So with that news I will likely stick with the OEM 20" rims for summer use. Now just have to find a suitable winter rim if this car is going to see any snow.. :hmm:

Too funny, I had that same thought a couple a months ago when I saw a new NSX on the showroom floor at our local Acura dealership. When I went to the parts counter to ask about price - I just about hit the floor!
Nice wheels but sure wouldn't want to pay to replace one. :confused1:

Look at all of us acting as if we already had the car . I don't think Ill have enough money to throw down on a set of wheels and tires after the dealership is done with me. Most likely I'll have to buy a crappy set of rims and studded tires before I can even think about summer wheels.

Like everything it will really depend on how hard you drive, as well as any tack days. Here is a quote from a recent test day review. Still too early to tell how well they are going to hold up though. The previous Michelin Pilot Super Sports faired quite well for wear considering the performance they delivered and these are suppose to be a bit better..

"The PS4S is under warranty for 30,000 miles (48,280km) (300 treadwear rating) for square fitments (all four tires the same size), and for 15,000 miles (24,140km) for staggered fitments (different front/rear sizes). In fact, Michelin says the PS4S has significantly longer life on average than the PSS but hasn't yet provided a specific percentage improvement."

Too funny, I will only purchase these once I roll through the OEM Conti's. As that won't happen anytime soon I can put a few pennies away for new tires when the time comes. I do expect that these will be a better overall tire though for the type of driving I'm considering.

Lol screw it, at $3000+ for a set of rims, that's like at least 2 sets of tires. I'll stick with the 20s this year.

That's a wide rim and you would have to use about a 285mm wide tire which might be a bit much for a CTR. If you use this

https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wh...18X10.5ET58&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm

you will be that the rim sticks out 27 mm further which I'm betting will be too much. I just had a look at the 18" wheels on the Civic Sport hatch at an auto show yesterday and even they don't have much room to play with so I expect the Type R won't have much room to play with. I'm not any tire figment expert though.. I'm sure more info will become available on potential fitments once the caR finally hits the market.
