HKS is coming out with all the good stuff.....

Can you still use the stock oil filter or do I need to use only the HKS one?
Has anyone confirmed if the OEM oil filters work with this kit?

I'd hate to be forced to use the shorty one from HKS in order to clear the undertray.

Don't even need it for the track if you have one of the big aftermarket intercoolers from companies like PRL. Unless maybe you're running endurance races. I've done two HPDEs, one of them in 98ÂşF weather, with rock-solid coolant and intake temps with just a PRL intercooler and Injen intake.
Hmmm I just did a track day in 95F weather. I have an intercooler and aftermarket grille with bigger opening, along with a downpipe. My ECT 250F within 3 min into my session and the coolant gauge bar was just under "H"....I could only do one hot lap at a time...

I'm guessing it's quite track-dependent.

I dunno something doesn’t sound right. My sessions were 20 to 30 minutes so plenty of time for heat soak. Might be something going on with your car like a blocked coolant channel or line or malfunctioning fans.

Hahaha, I tracked my car last October too but it was in much cooler weather at 50-70F. At that time the car was completely stock and the coolant gauge only went to 3/4 at most 10-15min in. All I had to do was back up a bit for about 40 seconds and I could go all out again for the rest of the session (20min each session).

Yikes! Which aftermarket IC did you go with. I agree with the earlier comment. Something doesn't sound right here. There are more than a few folks that run these hard in hot places like Texas, Nevada, etc. I would have thought that those two mods would have helped you out more than that...

@JLOracing

In your experience how much does an oil cooler like this help us if you were to push a CTR hard in the conditions you mentioned above?

Here's a size comparison of the HKS vs Stock oil filter.

Does the OEM filter clear the aluminum undertray?

I only ask as the HKS thermostat (sandwich adapter) looks to add at least an inch or so of height for the filter.

Hey yall. So I have a 2020 ctr with the new bumper blanks in the front. Any tips on what I can do to get air for my hks oil cooler? I was thinking just cut it to match the side with the horn
