I've already done this. The BMS intercooler is 134.45 mm thick while the rev9 offering is 90mm thick. I've held both in my hands and the rev9 feels like a cheap piece of shit compared. I'm sure the rev9 works fine. But it is 100% a completely different product.
Interesting... we could have different variations of "Rev9" intercooler design in the market. My friend bought the my "Rev9" intercooler & we had similar fitment issue because the top part of the IC hit bumper bullhead. It happened to my car also. We had to make a slight cut on the bullhead in order to fit the IC.

Measured the IC and its thickness was around 5 inch.

The IC brand wasn't Rev9. I called it Rev9 because the IC uses the same design as Rev9, which is more common for US members. It was a Thailand brand.

I was hoping for more pictures side by side with rev9, that will clear the confusion for all of us. I was not 100% sure if bms is thicker than rev9 and yes there will be difference in quality on both.

There's different version too as some are made in Thailand and some in China but not all are same design as rev9. Two of my friends got intercooler from aliexpress same as rev9 look but branding is autoX.

There is also an unbranded version on ebay that is labeled as a 2016-17 only version of the rev9. It's going for $229 and some change.

Rev9 Intercooler for 2016+ Honda Civic 1.5T.

I will be installing this is my 2018 Honda Civic SI.
I wanted an upgrade solution over the factory intercooler, while keeping factory intercooler piping and looks. (Sleeper)
Living on the central coast I saw some ridiculous IAT temps last summer.

After hearing from a few users using this intercooler with good results but not much info out there I decided to make the purchase.

Here is what $300 gets you.
Overall quality and appearance looks great. Arrived well packaged with no bent fins or dents. Welds look suffice. The end cap castings look to be of good quality and are nicely deburred. It does appear to be aluminized painted. There are a few runs but no big deal.

Update: Install:

Install went smooth. Remove the front bumper. This video is a great guide.

After the bumper is removed it's as simple as remove the hold down mounts on each side. Remove the intercooler piping. Rotate the intercooler forward and out. Installation in reverse. Everything mounted well. I did have to trim some of the plastic shrouding as the intercooler is larger.

Unfortunately my data did not turn out. However I can say that I drove the car and got some temperature into it. I then made four 2nd and 3rd gear wide open throttle pulls. I then turned around and made four 3rd gear wide open throttle pulls. I finished this up with some start and stop traffic. Ambient temperature was 65 degrees temperature post intercooler never exceeded 85 degrees during any of this testing. For the price I'm happy with those results.
I will be doing some autox the next following weekends and will see how the improvement is there.

I have the BMS intercooler waiting to get installed. I can take some measurements of it this weekend. I have talked to BMS and they said it is a similar design but they are supposedly better than the REV9. I will say the BMS intercooler is quite heavy. Think it's close to 30 lbs

Never experienced that but hey anything is plausible. You would think that with all these technological advances it be easy to replicate at a cheaper cost different stamping plausability

Cheaper options are made with cheaper lighter thinner materials and do not disapate heat as well as a thicker material. The bms intercooler is 130mm + thick and rev9 is 90mm thick. At some point you will experience diminishing returns. But if you live in a warmer climate I'd def get the bms option. The numbers don't lie and under boost I'm 5 to 8 degrees over ambient on iat2.
