I decided to do the Type R rear bench in my Si. I picked up the back seats for a good price from someone local that gutted their car for the track.
Tools:
10mm socket with extension
Needle nose pliers
Hog ring pliers
Hog rings
Glue gun + sticks
1: bench removal pull tables forward one on each side of rear bench front facing to release locks. Undo 10mm nut bottom of driver side back rest. Pull out. (Canadian models has heated rear seats don't forget to disconnect plug underneath seat)
2: with bench out remover all hog rings from underneath both benches Si and type r with needle nose pliers (twist)use 2 pliers when needed.
3: remove hog rings from top of seats using needle nose pliers.
4: disconnet heating elements from seat plug Si seat bench. carefully remove heating elements driver side and passenger side. I found pressing down on foam cushion better than pulling up the element.
5: using glue gun and aligning heating elements reattach to type r bench (use factory marks to know where to put glue) passenger and driver sides
6: reattach all slots with new hog rings
7: Connect element plugs and run factory wiring harness
8: using new hog rings reattach bottom slots of bench over to bench.
9: install back into car. Match hook lock press down and put back in 10mm nut. Pull threw seat belt buckles.
***Will be doing the center seatbelt delete and swapping to red webbing at a later date.
