I bought one from a seller that said 2020 and it didn’t work, returned it and bought from the actual autel store and it worked perfectly
Was this for a 2020 vehicle? Autel tells me their scanner does not work with my 2020 VIN but wondering if that is for all functions. All I need is the brake piston retraction for rear brakes.

They told me it doesn’t work for a 2019 either but it worked. I have a 2019 Honda Civic hatchback sport

I read somewhere that the AP200 requires over a GB of phone space for the program. For those who'd rather have a standalone scanner that can retract the brakes, try the Autel MD806 Pro. I haven't bought one yet, but I asked a question on Amazon and got the reply below:

My Autel AP200 never worked for me. Always timed out or gave an error.

The manual method worked perfectly.

For those shopping for a handheld scanner that will support rear brake pad change i just tried my Autel MaxiCheck Pro and could hear it cycle the electric parking brake motor/actuator on my '18 Type R.

Is anyone brave enough to try this method? :fear:

Of course beware of fatherpain's warning about driving the piston out of the caliper. :(

The most likely time that I would need to replace the rear brakes ASAP would be at the race track. Although the video looks good, it would be a lot easier to just use an electronic tool to do it.

That being said, after contacting Autel, when it comes to the 2020 model, they insist that I would need a vastly more expensive reader such as the MS906BT which retails for almost $1300 USD and is likely a lot more tool than I need.

Is there really any difference on this circuit in a 2020 CTR vs others years? Has anyone retracted their rear brakes on a 2020 with a lesser priced Autel tool. The upsell they are suggesting is huge.

Just to keep this open, has anyone had success retracting their rear brakes with an Autel MD806 or 806 Pro? Seems that some folks don't get the Ap200 to work. OTOH, Honda has a 2020 version of the AP200 so.....

According to some people in other Honda forums, when you do the full VSA pedal button dance, it will retract the parking brake into maintenance mode. I'm going to give a whirl on my brake change and let you all know.
