Heads up for anyone that has one of the aftermarket Android stereos from China.
I did my oil change and couldn't reset my MM afterwards. I have the LX/Sport Hatchback so I had the basic stereo and usually reset the MM on the HUD by cycling to the oil life screen and holding the menu button for 10 seconds and then again for 5 once the screen blinks. I was not able to get the screen to blink no matter how long I held the button.

Long story, short, my Android stereo has taken over that duty and I can no longer do it from the HUD. I had to go into the Car Settings app and scroll way down until I saw "Reset Maintenance". Once I clicked that the oil life went back to 100% and I'm back in business.

I just happened across this solution as a last resort when I remembered that a lot of the EX features are covered by the stereo and thought I'd poke around in the menus.

I have one of those aftermarket Android stereo from China on my 2018 Civic Sport Hatchback, and like you, resetting on the dash not possible. Unfortunately I do not seem to have a "Reset Maintenance" option on my car settings app on the stereo. Could it be a software update to resolve, or is there a setting in the factory settings screens that needs to be changed for that option to be present?

Sorry to hear you are not having luck locating the option. When I first initially setup my stereo, I had to pick a certain model (sorry, it's been a while so details are fuzzy) in order to get full functionality of my steering wheel buttons. I don't know if that gave me the ability to control maintenance minder as well. Other than that, I don't know of anything else I might've done to change that. I know I also customized some apps (how they are loaded, or stopped them from loading) but nothing I'd say would affect this.

I can check exact location of the Reset Maintenance to ensure you are looking in the same place. And if I can find it, the name of the car model I'm loading up.

So I have a "Car Settings" app that lets me configure all sorts of car related items light headlight and cabin light timings, MPH/KMH, open door notices, lane watch, etc...a lot of stuff EX related that don't even apply to me. Way down that list is a section called "Other Settings" where there is an entry named "Areset maintenance info". That allows me to reset the Maintenance Minder.

This section is not the same as the "Car Settings" menu within Android "Settings".

I can't verify the car model I selected because it's probably in the "Extra Settings" menu that I can't remember the passcode for.

Hi there,

Thanks for the quick response. Do you recall if you downloaded this car settings app? I do have something call car settings, and extra settings is an option under it, in that option I can change whether to have the volume on/off on reverse, as well as turn on the camera rulers - along with a few other options, but reset maintenance not an option. Thanks for your help.

I have access to the factory settings as well in this car settings app, but other than having to change the view mode to be able to use the lane watch camera, I don’t know if the other settings would make the maintenance option available?

I FOUND IT

There’s an app called “control” on the HU, and in that app I see the options you mentioned, along with the reset maintenance option that I really needed. Your help is extremely appreciated, the “car settings” option I was looking at was incorrect and was in the Android settings. You letting me know that it was in a different area (another app), allowed me to search elsewhere and eventually find the option. Thanks again for your help.
