Hey guys,

I'm about to start installing a few bolt ons and a Hondata base tune, but eventually want a professional tune of some sort. I'm looking to get some advice on the major U.K tuning companies available. If you've got personal experiences with any of them I'd love to hear it. I'm based in the north of England, but the distance doesn't bother me if they're worth it.

As you can imagine there are hundreds of local tuners that make things difficult when searching, most claiming to be Honda tuning specialists.

Cheers!

Tuning wise, I fully recommend Paul Wise @ tpw engineering.
Used this guy and he knows his stuff.

TPW aka TDI-North in Warrington. Used 'em a good few times for both parts (my main go-to) but only once for work; fit Remus cat-back i bought from them. I could be wrong but i think they quietly colaborated with AmD on the FK2/8 mapping work. if i ever get a tune, these'd be the guys i most likely use.

Dream Automotive down london area is also well respected. I've only used them for parts. They're doing 7mod remaps & turbo mods. for me, 2nd to TDI-North but thats based on being more familiar with TDI-N than anything else.

another is CPL Racing. another southerner. probably lesser known than the above two and i've never used them, but been around for years in the honda specialist sector.

I'm sure theres a place up in southern Scotland but cant see who based off google maps results.

TPW/TDI were always the first ones that sprang to mind, I’ll give them a bell and see what they get back to me with. Cheers

Cheers for the info! As I said to another bloke in the comments, TDI is always the first that springs to mind when it comes to tuning or parts. I’ve had one or two friends go through them for work and they’ve been left impressed. I’ll probably give them a call to see what they can offer.

I'll resurrect this as it's been a year since posted and things can change, new tuners can emerge.
I'm also on a quest for a tuner and have briefly spoken with both TDI and CPL.
The guy at CPL has a wealth of knowledge and isn't pushy for spending your money throwing the latest and most trendy upgrades at your car, and explained what power etc I'd see from various routes. He also advised me against some of the options I was interested in as opossed to just taking my money. Tdi North gave fair advice on upgrades too.
I just need to decide the usual dilemma of hondata or ktuner, and I'm now getting bored of comparing one to the other.
Why does the Honda have to be such a pain, and not simply accept normal mapping without being unlocked/locked to a brand.
