I wasn't sure what section to post this but I guess this is as good as any. Has anyone taken out the front seats and did you have any problems with the airbag light turning on? What size bit did you need to take them out? I just want to make sure before taking mine out this weekend for a project.
Thanks!

How did the project go? I haven't been able to find how to take the front seats out.

I gave up lol. I was trying to install an amp under the seat but I moved it to the back in the trunk. I'm sure it's just a matter of disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and finding the right torx bit I just didn't have a set to check.

I removed my front driver's side seat to install my amp. It is a non-power seat so there was not much to it. I disconnected the air bag connection and unbolted the seat. The most "difficult" part is getting it out of the car without scratching anything. I didn't have trouble with that per say, you just want to be careful with it.

Did you do anything special before disconnecting the air bag connector? Lots of conflicting info out there regarding disconnecting the battery or not. I'd like to know what actually works before removing the seats. Thanks

I'm 99% sure I didn't disconnect the battery. Maybe I should have. No problems though.

Taking the seats out are a total pain in the ass. The seats are armed with a seatbelt sensor to make sure it yells at you if you're not buckled up, an airbag wire for the airbags in the side of each seat, and another wire that I can't remember what it was for. I replaced both my seats with brackets included with some aftermarket Sparcos I got for cheap. The brackets I used were from Planted.

Here are some photos. You'll have to use a T50 hex nut/key to get the bottom of the bolts holding it to the chassis. Also if you want to reuse the seatbelt's like I did you'll have to cut the many mini clamps holding it to the seat. That was the worst part out of everything tbh.
