Spilled something on my ECON button and now it's super sticky when you push it and doesn't want to come back up. Anyone know how to take it off so I can clean it?

Edit: Damn that was some broken English.

If you remove the shifter surround you should be able to access the connections and buttons from behind. Look up the Acuity install guide for the shift boot collar, removing the shifter surround is part of it.

And here I thought this topic was a question about removing the actual Econ button. BTW, hobby-man, the OP has a CVT but I'm sure the shift surround removal is somewhat similar.

Oh shit, good call. Parts of the process must be similar surely...might take a bit of guesswork though

I'll try this out. And yeah it's a CVT. The 7th gen Civic I had you needed to remove the entire center console to get to anything but the shift light bulb. I don't really want to get into that.

To do what you want, all you'll need is a Phillips head screw driver and a pry tool. I've gotten so proficient at it that I don't even need the pry tool anymore lol.
