Removable bike rack for 2017 sedan?

Hey guys,

New here to the forums. I have a 2017 Civic Sedan (Touring Edition). I'm looking for a bike rack. I do not have a hitch nor roof rack and do not plan on purchasing either. I'm hoping to find one of those bike racks that attaches to the trunk and is removable.

roof racks are removable but if you are planning to just get a trunk one. any universal one would work

Used to own one of these, and used it on a car before my 2016 civic sedan. Worked fine, no real scratches but there is a metal "hook" that latches onto the top of your trunk. Again no scratches but that's the only point of contact I could think for potential scratching.

I used a Sirius bones 2 bike rack in my 2016 sedan. The only time it scratched the car was when Installed on a dirty car. Just make sure that the contact points are clean and you should be good.

I used a universal trunk carrier on a ford back in 2015. It did not scratch the paint, but did warp the metal on the car. I will not trust one on my honda with much thinner/weaker trunk body panels.

I would not use these for carbon bike
Bike will move like the arrows show.

Best bike rack are on the roof top

The hitch mount is the best option. This is the hitch on my 2017 Coupe. I find it to be very inoffensive, and my bike racks folds down effortlessly to get into the trunk (Drawtite Hitch with Yahima HoldUp EVO 2).

I'd get you a full rear pic but it's sitting in my garage now at 4 AM.

I have a Thule Raceway PRO 2 from my Lexus that I will be using on this car. Haven't tried it yet, but doesn't seem like it should be a problem on the sedan, unsure about coupe or hatchback though.

After reading this thread, went ahead and got a used Hollywood Rack to hold 3 bikes.
