Yeah. I think this price is probably correct given how all the other info was spot on, but I can't find it confirmed anywhere either. I think $40K MSRP is honestly a bit much given the luke-warm reception of the '20 changes. I doubt ADMs are going to be that sustainable at that price so maybe Honda just wants to ensure they put more of it in their pocket vs the dealer.

The price increase is due to inflation, addition of technology, and maybe increased costs of shipping and suppliers as well. I highly doubt it’s for more profit, it’s a low volume car making it illogical. Manufactures already know profit margins prior to the cars being built.

On a related note, I just got to hear the piped-in engine note of a 2019 Golf R, and I thought that it sounded great. I know that everyone hates "fake" engine noises, but the Type R is not exactly known for it's amazing note with any exhaust. If the piped in note sounds good, I'd be interested in seeing if the active sound module on the 2020s is compatible with my 2019.

Yeah... depending on how it's done piped in engine noise isn't that bad. If you want hilariously bad sounding ones, go listen to the Ford Ranger or Lexus UX piped in engine noises. It's comical.

Do you guys get the new exhaust particulate filter over there? It's ruined the sound of exhausts here, this is why I think Honda are piping in the fake sound as it will be even more muted standard than the 17-19....

Particulate filter also saps power (golf r and s3 when from 310 bhp back to 296) so be interesting if Honda have redone the ecu to keep the same levels (could be slightly different power delivery as the RS3 has proved)

Finally Phoenix yellow reported by UK press as available...although they could be wrong of course
Have you got a link to the press report regarding the Yellow paint?

The top trim sti and golf r(with manual) come in at an msrp of about $47k cad. Honda has no business pricing it up there unless they go awd.
