Red leather-wrapped shift knob on 2020 Type R ?

I never had any issues with the Type R upgrade shifter I love it. Fit and finish are ? has never burned me but my car is garaged and I don’t have the baking of sun because I’m 15% tint and windshield banner.

This problem is specific to the 2020 CTR. The 2019 lock nut transitions from the 20mm base of the shift knob to the 30mm boot collar. The 2019 nut won't work with the 2020 boot collar and the 2020 nut has no transition section. Your installation looks perfect.

Fitment yes but he solved that, not the burning your hand, this is the best shifter OEM wise. If anything the 2 OEM standard knobs are the worst offenders of burning your hand.

Those are a great find! I'm looking forward to seeing how they work for you. Too bad they will take a month to get.

Just got them today, absolutely love them both. Ended up going with the red but regardless of color, the size was perfect!

I ended up getting the stock 2020 shift knob wrapped in leather by SWEIDIT (100 bucks) and it turned out very good. Out of all the shift knobs I’ve tried, the stock 2020 is probably the best feeling when mated to the stock shifter IMO.

Just got them today, absolutely love them both. Ended up going with the red but regardless of color, the size was perfect!

Mine came today also. They both look great. It will be hard for me to choose. It really appears OEM.

Thanks man...that looks good. Looks like the easier way to do it as a 3 piece because of the oblong shape. I might give that a try....hope I have a close enough red. ??? If not all black with red stitching will work good enough for me as well. Just something to not burn or freeze my hands...lol
