Super disappointed. Bought these from a company that I thought was reputable. But less than 18 months later. They're hideous. I wound up replacing them with factory silver H's. Guess this is what I get for not purchasing them direct from Honda.

They even came in "Honda" bags, with part numbers, etc. Obviously, not Honda OEM. Oh well, live and learn.

In other news, I'll have a set of 4 wheel center caps, that were purchased through my local dealer, up for sale soon.

Ouch -- has happened to several people. I know a lot of people try to avoid the dealership in hopes of saving some money -- I tend to go to the dealership to prevent problems, have warranty and keep a good working relationship.

Yep, spot on. Looking back at my email - I thought it was a dealer I'd bought them from on Amazon. But nooooooo... this is what my dumb a$$ gets. :)

I got mine from Penske Honda dealership. They’re 39.99 each. They’re great.

I tried many aftermarket parts for my previous cars and not much luck for me.
I just bought 2 front red emblems for my SI coupe, together with the famous HFP front red lip.
All from my dealership.
Hope they look good on my MSM coupe.

The ones I got from the dealer look the same after about 20k miles. They're the OE part itself sold by Honda and they get just as bad with swirl marks. I'm willing to bet any Type R with over 10k miles will have its H emblems just as bad.

For the record, I do wax and/or seal my emblems whenever I wash

It's not the swirls that are the problem. It's the spots IN the red. And the front has streaks at the top like it was doing mach 3. If you look at the one on the left - that's the one from the trunklid. Looks like it has red mold spores growing in a petri dish. ;)

I got mine about a month ago on edgeautosport.com and love them. They are factory OEM part and the red looks great. Saw lower priced ones on Amazon and Ebay, but did not want to take a chance:)

Pay extra and get them from the dealer or one of the vendors here.

Have you tried taking buffing compound to them? Just curious if it would make a difference or if it is all internal.

It's under the plastic on the one. They were purchased from a Honda "dealer" on ebay - that doesn't exist anymore. Go figure.

Bummer they didn’t last, anything can be faked these days. There’s a stream of counterfeit products out there and may have gotten ito dealer stock. Someone in dealer parts can say look boss, we can buy OEM ones cheaper from here instead of paying 2x and back ordered. Who knew? It can happen if dealers get creative or greedy.

I had a bigger problem literally with my Ridgeline I’ve turned into a Type R, there’s no RL-R really but mine captures most cosmetic features, tuned to 350 but no turbo.

Anyway, that real H badge on the tailgate is Honda’s biggest ever, nothing comes close in a red filled R badge. I made one dying hobby acrylic red and tried to make four removable magnetic backed pieces in a new OEM H. Despite using the recommendation non-stick they stuck as one so I R2 the entire badge and clear coated it.

I’d recommend if you find another R badge a few coats of clear UV spray goes a long way. My R Ridgeline still looks good 3 years later, See pics. It compliments the new Civic R in the driveway but won’t fit in the garage due to a freezer and junk, Civic fits though.

Hint: No R emblem that’s genuine is spelled with a j!
