--------------------------------------------ORIGINAL POST--------------------------------------------

Boomba is no stranger when it comes to motor mounts for Honda Civics. We’ve made mounts for the European Type-R’s, R18’s, 8th Gen & 9th Gen Civics in the past. Now we are looking to expand with the tenth generation Civic.

You may be questioning “what is a rear motor mount” or “why do I need to replace my rear motor mount?”. Let us educate you a little bit on that matter.

A rear motor mount secures your engine to the subframe. From the factory these mounts are fine for normal driving but often leave a lot to be desired in the terms of performance. Stock mounts are sloppy and result in a lot of flex. This gives you undesirable things such as wheel spin, torque steer, and wheel hop.

The Boomba Racing Motor Mounts feature a poured in polyurethane bushing rather than a pressed in one. The benefits of this can be seen here in this video:

I’ve attached a picture of our in-development mount below!

These are set to release very soon.

Let us know if you have any questions.

How much will these cost? Also, does this fix how jumpy the car is at low speeds?

Also, what is the rating on the poly? Would this mount be okay for a daily driver?

This should eliminate a lot of the jumpiness.

We are using a 80 durometer bushing in this mount.

This will be suitable to use on a daily driver. Any aftermarket mount will add a little bit of NVH (noise vibration harshness) but our mounts significantly break in after the first 1,000 miles.

Would you say that the durometer rating goes down after it breaks in?

Would you consider making a hard rubber version as well?

You can say it feels like a lesser durometer once it breaks in, but the mount is still the same amount effective.

In terms of comfort goes, you wouldn't really want anything harder than this.

By hard rubber, I meant slightly stiffer than stock but softer than poly. In a previous car I used a poly mount and it was way too stiff for me.

Thanks!

I can forward the idea along to our engineers. Typically we stick to polyurethane when it comes to our mounts. Not all mounts using poly are created equal, either.

Your mount looks fantastic by the way.

Will you be doing a complete mount kit or just the rear?
We plan to only begin with the rear mount first and expand if there is more interest in other mounts. Just this single mount alone really transforms the car.

Thanks!

We should have some more updated pictures today!

How does your mount compare with the Hasport mount that starts at a durometer rating of 62? Wouldn't your mount be much stiffer for every day use?

A mount can't be judged strictly on its durometer rating. The design of the mount also plays largely into how stiff a mount actually feels.
