Last Thursday I was rear ended while I was fully stopped waiting to turn left across oncoming traffic. The SUV that hit me was going at least 25 at the time of the crash. Nobody was injured besides some aches and pains that were to be expected.
We live in Iowa, which I understand is a 50% state, meaning that if the damage costs over half of the cost of the car then it will be a total loss. So far, the other drivers insurance has been good to work with and they are sending an appraiser Monday or Tuesday to inspect the damage.
Anyone have similar damage and have cost estimates? My car is an LX base model, 27,000 miles, and in pristine condition inside and out prior to this.
