Nice setup. Any rubbing issues? Is the suspension stock?
Thanks! No rubbing at all. 265-35-18 Bridgestone RE71R tires. Eibach Sportline springs and SPC adjustable rear camber arms, all other suspension is stock.

Im new member to this forum. I just have a question. I watched on Youtube that you can use tire size 255/35 R20 on Type R stock wheels. Do you agree?

Anyone want to share their experience when deciding between 255/40R18 vs 265/35R18?

I just put an order for some 18x9.5 +38 57DR and I'm struggling to decide on the tires I want to get. I heard if you have ANY intentions of lowering, 265/35 is the way to go. While I can't say for sure that I will or won't, I'd like to have the option I guess?

255/40 seems closer to stock ride height and speedo, and from what I've been able to find on stock suspension there is no rubbing.

Thanks in advance.

I went with 265-35-18's on my FK8. I kinda knew in advance that I'd be lowering my car in the future. My wheel selection is 18X9.5" with +45 offset so my wheels sit a little further into my wheel wells than your setup. With your +38 offset you can't go too low without rubbing the fenders/fender wheel wells. I'd stay with either stock springs or at the most a set that doesn't lower it very much lower like Eibach Pro Kit, Spoon and simular products. I wouldn't recommend Eibach Sportlines or Swifts due to the fact that they drop the car quite a bit further that the ones I mentioned above. When I first installed my new wheels and tires I thought immediately that I had to lower the car due to the large gap between the fenders and the top of the tires. If you are not sure about lowering the car I'd probably lean towards The 255-40-18's because they would fill out the fender wells more. I hope this helps you out some. I just went through the same delema recently myself so it's fresh in my mind! Here are a couple of before lowering and after so you can see what I just described. I have Eibach Sportlines on my car.

I appreciate the in-depth reply!

Definitely if I were to drop it, it wouldn't be too low. Just for now I don't see it in the near future, and you're right the 255/40 would probably fill out the gap better I'm just worried that even with those specs I might have some rub if I have a passenger or groceries since it's a daily when there's no salt/snow on the road up here for me. I guess 265/35 would be safer theoretically, just hoping it can provide the peace of mind I'm seeking from switching out of the 245/30R20 OEMs.

BTW your car looks insane man. Threw you a follow on IG. Wish I could afford some TE37s lol.

Hey, no problem at all! Glad to help out. At least I did learn a few things going through the process of figuring out the FK8 wheel selection! If you have any more questions feel free to ask, I'd be happy to help with anything I know that's firsthand information. Also Gramlight 57's are absolutely incredible wheels! You and everyone else will love them no doubt!!
