How do you like how this setup rides compared to stock?

It has been a while since I have been on the stock wheels and tires (over two years ago). Trying to remember how it felt, the steering response was sharper. With 18's and a 255/40 tire, the ride is way more comfortable and compliant, but steering feel is less sharp. I have not ran a summer only tire before, only high performance all seasons, even with my other setup which are TEs in the same spec as my CEs. I would imagine summer only tires ride a bit different than high performance all seasons.

I also run a winter setup using 18x8 wheels and a 235/45 tire. The ride is even more comfortable and refined, but winter tires always have less reponse and steering feel.

Thanks for the response. I really appreciate it. I usually run the DWS’s as well and I’m happy with their street application around here in New England. Also, not planning to lower the car so it’s interesting your mention about less steering sharpness.

Not a problem. The DWS06 is a great tire. I had them before on another set of wheels and ended up getting them again for my CEs. I wanted the new DWS06 Plus but they were backordered at the time. I believe a combination of thicker sidewall, wider tread, and wheel size/offset all play into the feeling being different than stock. For me, I just could not daily drive with the stock setup.

57DRs should come with valve stems. However, the Rays aluminum ones will work as well.

I bought some 57dr 18x9.5 et 38 offset for my stock suspension Type R.
I was wondering if anyone was running the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06plus at 265/40/18?

My car is full bolt on and has a custom tune pushing around 400hp. I was wondering if I should go 265/40/18 or 255/40/18?
I live in the Seattle Greater Eastside and don't drive into Seattle. I think the roads are relatively fine.
Just concerned about rubbing.

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I couldn't find someone with this specific set up after reading for like 2 hours. Maybe my search skills just suck too.

265/40 will rub for sure. 255/40 rubs the tiniest amount on big dips but is fine 99.9% of the time

also 265/40 looks kind of goofy, I saw a pic once and it’s too much tire
